The Co-Educational Department of Physical Education Shri Jai Narayan P.G. College, Lucknow was established in the year 1952 and B.P.Ed. Course started in the year 1993.The Founder members of the department were Dr. C. K. Mukherjee and Dr. K. N. Tripathi. Department’s present core team of Faculty Members are Dr. N. K. Bajpai (Incharge), Dr. D.M. Tripathi, Dr. Kamil Khan, Dr. Anil tripathi, Dr. Sharad Chaurasia and Dr. Suyash Shukla. The aim of the department is to upgrade the status of Physical Education by producing qualified and qualitative personnel in Physical Education, Sports and allied fields.
Olympian & Padmashri Late Shri K.D. Singh “Babu”, Olympian Late Shri Mohd. Shahid, Shri Sayyed Ali, Shri Jasvender Singh, Shri Ravinder Pal Singh, Shri Sujeet Kumar, Shri Syyad Rafat Zuber Rizvi, Cricketer Shri Ashok Bambi, Shri Amit Chopra, Shri Atul Bajaj, Shri Dinesh Chand Nautiyal and Power Lifter Shri Satrohan Lal were bonafide students of the department and brought laurels to this prestigious Institution.
